Our beauty school instructors go above and beyond to make sure our students master the concepts and are ready for life after graduation. All of our instructors are working professionals and are constantly being retrained so they can teach the students the very latest trends and techniques in the beauty industry.
Cosmetology
The cosmetology program is designed to give you the skills you’ll need to start an exciting new career in the beauty industry. Our expert instructors will teach you the latest techniques in hair styling, cutting, coloring, makeup, and nail design, as well as salon management and everything you need to know to pass your State Board exam. If you want to take your education to the next level, you can apply to our exclusive Master Stylist Program, an advanced education and training program that no other beauty school in California offers.
Esthetics
The esthetics program will give you training in all aspects of the skin care industry. Inside our newly remodeled Esthetics Department, you’ll learn to treat skin conditions, provide a variety of facials, recreate the latest makeup techniques, perform hair removal, and more. You’ll practice these services on real clients on the clinic floor, using some of the best products and most modern equipment on the market, like our new Earthlite hydraulic spa beds. When you graduate, you’ll be fully ready to sit for your State Board exam and start a new career as a licensed esthetician.

Palomar Institute of Cosmetology partners with some of the best professional products in the beauty industry, so our students are better prepared to work in a salon or spa after graduation. Students learn about retail and how to educate their clients about the products they're using, two important aspects of being a successful beauty professional.

Student Finds Happiness in Her Personalized Externship
Palomar Institute of Cosmetology student Lauren Porter is working hard and paving her way in the beauty industry. She’s busy taking night cosmetology classes and Master Stylist classes, doing an externship at Bryll Hair Lounge, all while caring for her infant son. She’s optimistic that her externship position will turn into a job offer when she graduates in July. No matter what happens, she feels honored to be part of an industry where she gets to love people every day.

Graduate Becomes Master Educator for California Salon Chain
Brenna Petre started working as an assistant at Carlton Hair Salon after she graduated from Palomar Institute of Cosmetology in 2009. After three years with the company, she’s been promoted to Senior Stylist and is now working her way up to Master Educator. She’s passionate about continuing to learn and grow as a stylist so she can share her knowledge with her fellow stylists to help them grow, too.

Gloria Ryan has worked in nearly every aspect of the beauty industry in nearly every part of the country. She’s worked behind the chair in several salons, worked in sales for different product lines, and as the Director of Education for Paul Brown Hawaii. Now Ms. Gloria has brought her talent to Palomar Institute of Cosmetology where she’s the new cosmetology instructor. She’s extremely passionate about sharing her knowledge and experiences with the students to help them succeed in the beauty industry.
